How rankings are decided
Recommendations are calculated by a fixed, rules-based scoring method using your answers and product information. AI does not independently choose which product wins.
What your Match Score means
CoatKey uses stored product information and its own suitability assessments to compare tools for your grooming goal, coat, dog size, noise preferences and experience. Manufacturer specifications and CoatKey assessments are different kinds of evidence. AI does not invent product facts or change the scoring rules.
A Match Score out of 100 describes fit for your answers. It is not a customer star rating, a probability of success or a measured product-quality score. Best Match means the strongest qualifying fit among the products CoatKey evaluates for your answers; it does not establish the best product on the market or long-term reliability.
Your selected coat characteristics guide the match. If you do not select a structural coat type, CoatKey may use a breed-based coat assumption; the results identify that assumption. Noise and ease-of-use assessments cannot guarantee how an individual dog or owner will respond.
Budget is a preference rather than an absolute cutoff. Qualifying options within your budget are prioritized, and an above-budget alternative may be shown with a clear label. Price bands are reference ranges, not current retailer prices. Customer stars and review counts do not determine these Match Scores.
Customer-review evidence
Review evidence for the current beta products is limited or unresolved. CoatKey has no approved combined customer-star rating to show. A high Match Score does not mean a product has been proven more durable or better reviewed than alternatives.
Current catalog coverage
The real-product beta covers dog clippers and grooming vacuums. Manual brushes, dryers and nail tools are not yet included. A goal with no matches may reflect this limited coverage; it does not mean no suitable tool exists. Complete setup results cover only the categories currently included.
